Duties :
• Development of optometry clinics to encompass a broader range of services.• Liaison with other professionals within hospital in order to develop optometry services.• Subjective refraction of patients of all ages and follow-up as required. •Cycloplegic refraction of infants and children and follow-up as required.• Oculomotor/Orthoptic assessment and follow-up in absence of Orthoptist i.e. examination, non-surgical treatment and follow-up of patients with strabismus, amblyopia, oculomotor and related abnormalities.• Low vision assessments of visually impaired patients. Liaison with outside institutions providing support services for visually impaired patients.• Provision and development of vision therapy service.• Perform visual field test (Automated and manual)Co-ordination of departmental audits. •Accrual of daily statistics regarding hours worked and consultations performed in optometry department, and forward monthly report to Clinical Director Paramedical Services.• All duties of Ophthalmic Technician if he/ she is unable to perform their duties as outlined in job description for Ophthalmic Technician (with exception of fluorescein angiograms).• Other duties not specifically enumerated in this job description which may from time to time be assigned by superiors25/8/23
