About Al Rahba Hospital
Established in 2003, Al Rahba Hospital is a 166-bed advanced secondary care facility. In 2006, Al Rahba
became the first public hospital in the UAE to be accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI).
Al Rahba's advanced emergency department serves more than 200 patients daily, harnessing advanced
technology such as a multi-slice CT scanner, designed to provide specialist care in trauma cases. The
Outpatient Department has 18 specialties.
Corresponding Key Activities performed by the role:
Managerial
Reporting shortage of materials to (supervisor) senior radiographer at earliest convenience, maintaining records for ordering and replenishments
Technical
Performing all general radiography procedures in accordance with department policies, procedures and protocols
Performing other radiography (special) procedures as required
• Evaluates images produced for acceptable quality, appropriateness and completeness. Forwards images to Radiologist for review and reporting
• Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment. Including restocking of supplies for subsequent use and equipment cleaning
• Providing advice to medical/technical staff on appropriate techniques and clinical staff on appropriate imagery interventions
• Dealing with patients and clinical staff initial enquiries and to relay to clinical staff where necessary
• Whenever required, directing and monitoring all procedures carried out by junior staff under supervision and step in whenever there is a requirement
• Responsible for the safe and competent use of all radiology equipment, patient appliances and aids used in the department
Providing advice and respond to queries across the organization
Performing other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Quality & Safety
• Promoting and maintaining quality in all services and ensure continuous quality improvement measures are in place. Conduct method evaluation/development as per standard policies and procedures
• Complying with all safety and quality control programs and procedures as applicable
• Complying with applicable precautions for environmental safety, infection control, using a series of interventions that minimize or prevent cross infection (In conjunction with relevant departments)
• Maintaining the strictest confidence in relation to patient information whether formally or informally recorded
• Practicing within the expressed limits of established policies and procedures
• Ensuring that SOP (standard operation procedures) and Quality Assurance tests are maintained within all sections
• Being responsible for documenting all intervention in appropriate format
• Comply and support clinical audit processes within the service and report on these as agreed
Communicating in a professional and courteous manner with patients, family and other medical personnel as necessary to obtain information for laboratory records,
explain procedures, clarify orders and communicate status
Education
Participating in education sessions for department staff, doctors and nurses in the safe and secure handling of equipment, i.e. teaching, induction, peer review, case studies, and clinical presentations
• Participating in department programs/committees, various hospital committees, and staff meetings (if requested)
• Participating in the orientation and training of new employees
• Ensuring appropriate internal and external sharing of information based on governing policies and procedures
• Maintaining professional knowledge by attending lectures, seminars or on-line education units
• Completing and maintaining all regulatory requirements including: licensure and certification and other mandatory training within established time frames

Qualifications, Certifications and Experience
Required:
a.BSc in Radiography or graduate from an accredited Diploma program (NLT 3 years syllabus)
b. Graduate from an accredited Radiography program (NLT 2 years syllabus) and registered
with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists, The Canadian Association of
Medical Radiation Technologists, UK-HPC, or equivalent.
c. Current National License
Experience Required in addition to the Qualifications mentioned above (Relevant to the Job)
Required:
a. NLT 2 years experience as radiographer in a multimodality site/facility including OR, trauma, etc. in an acute care hospital
b. NLT 4 years experience as radiographer in a multimodality site/facility including OR, trauma, etc. in an acute care hospital
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk moderate distances, sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to physically bear difficult working conditions. Must observe contact precautions, working hours significantly beyond regular schedule: Overtime and on-call as needed by the department.
